It so important to be 'breast-aware' so on Wednesday 28 October at 10.30 our Nurses will be holding a free 30 minute session on how to perform self-breast examinations. This session will be held at our premises at 2 Oliver Street. Numbers are limited so please call us on 8274234 to reserve your place.
In New Zealand, breast cancer affects 3000 women and 20 men each year. This means that every day in New Zealand 7 new women are diagnosed with breast cancer. The risk of breast cancer increases with age and all New Zealand women from the age of 45-69 are entitled to free mammograms. However, breast cancer can affect women of any age and early detection saves lives. Being 'breast-aware' means knowing what 'normal' looks and feels like for your breasts-we are all different. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 28 October, and if you can't make it then, please book an appointment any time with Prabani or one of our lovely nurses to find out more about being 'breast-aware'.
